SASP - A national program since 2012
Welcome to the exciting world of action shooting, a sport like no other offering an absolutely “level playing field” across genders and age.
The Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF) is the national governing body for the Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP), offering youth from 5th grade through college the opportunity to safely participate in our exciting team-based action shooting sports!
SASP is designed to instill in young people a set of personal values and character traits for fair play, compassionate understanding, individual responsibility, sportsmanship, self-discipline, and personal commitment. As the sport itself, these qualities will stay with them throughout their lifetimes, helping each young athlete reach his or her full potential.
• Youth may participate using:
Rimfire Handgun or Centerfire Handgun,
Rimfire Rifle Iron Sights,
Rimfire Rifle Optic Sights,
Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC Iron and Optic Sights compete together).
The following disciplines are "add ons" for athletes shooting rimfire or centerfire pistol discipline,
Centerfire 1911
Rimfire Optic Sight Pistol
Centerfire Optic Sight Pistol
Rimfire Iron Sight Revolver
Centerfire Iron Sight Revolver
(not all disciplines are available at all matches)
• Targets are steel 10" circle or 12"circle or 18"x24" rectangular plates.
• All courses of fire are timed events.
